Trick Daddy tells TMZ he’s open to a proposed sit-down with Lil Wayne to settle their feud … but what he’s actually doing is throwing gasoline on the fire. In case you’re not up to speed … Lil Wayne went ballistic after a member of Trick’s posse allegedly flicked a cigarette in Wayne’s dreads at a Miami strip club. Mr. Daddy isn’t copping to the incendiary move. Now here’s where it gets bad. Rather than trying to make things nice, Daddy’s logic is … “If I [wanted to start s**t with Lil Wayne he would have been in the hospital for a different reason than a seizure.” Trick is bitter … claiming Wayne’s gotten him blackballed from all the good strip clubs in Miami … and hey, now all that’s left are the butterface joints. Finally … enter Birdman … who has the good sense to try and defuse the situation between the 2 feuding rappers by scheduling a sit-down happy meal.

Grammy-winning singer Lauryn Hill has been sentenced to three months in prison for failing to pay taxes on more than $2 million in earnings.

USA Today reports: Grammy award-winning singer Lauryn Hill was sentenced Monday to three months in federal prison for failing to pay taxes on more than $2 million in earnings during a five-year period.

U.S. Magistrate Judge Madeline Cox Arleo in Newark, N.J. federal court also sentenced the famed rapper and actress to three months of home confinement with electronic monitoring after the prison term. Hill must also serve a year of supervised release and pay a $60,000 fine in addition to paying her tax debt to the IRS.

Hill is a 37-year-old South Orange, N.J. resident who won fame as a member of the Fugees and then launched a solo career that included the Grammy-winning The Miseducation of Lauryn Hill . She pleaded guilty last year in the tax case.

In a courtroom statement to Arleo, Hill said she had always intended to pay the overdue taxes eventually, but found herself unable to raise the money during a period when she had dropped out of the music business.

Hill had faced a maximum sentence of one year each on three counts. Her lawyer, Nathan Hochman, had argued for probation.

Hochman said Hill had paid more than $970,000 to satisfy her tax liabilities.

Last month, Hill used Tumblr to address media reports that stated she’d reached new label deal with Sony Worldwide Entertainment to release music that would help her pay the tax debts. Hill confirmed a deal with Sony but said the reported nature of the deal and dollar amounts involved were inaccurate.

“I have been working towards this for a long time, not just because of my current legal situation, but because I am an artist, I love to create, and I need the proper platform to do so,” Hill wrote.

Prosecution records filed in the tax case by the office of U.S. Attorney Paul Fishman showed that Hill owned and operated four private corporations in addition to her entertainment career. Royalties from the recording and film industries were Hill’s primary form of income, the prosecution document charged.

Hill received more than $1.8 million in income during 2005, 2006 and 2007 but didn’t file tax returns during that time. Although her guilty plea specifically related to that three-year period, Fishman said her sentence also took into account additional income and tax losses for 2008 and 2009, when she similarly failed to file tax returns. The sentence also addressed overdue New Jersey state taxes.

In all, federal prosecutors said Hill had earned approximately $2.3 million during the five years and had an unpaid tax total of $1,006,517 before more recent payments.

Hill is tentatively scheduled to begin her prison term July 8. It was not immediately clear where she would serve the sentence.

Too bad this is happening to L. Boogie but hopefully everything will be alright once she gets out of prison and puts out those great tracks.

Lauryn Hill releases a new track – this joint is dope as hell, good to hear Ms. Hill again, can’t wait for the other 4 songs that are part of her contract  with Sony to be released. Lauryn said:

“Here is a link to a piece that I was ‘required’ to release immediately, by virtue of the impending legal deadline. I love being able to reach people directly, but in an ideal scenario, I would not have to rush the release of new music… but the message is still there.”

In part 2 Facemob talks to Nick Huff Barili about the current state of Hip Hop saying that older white executives that are in control of Hip Hop are not in touch with the streets and don’t care about the culture. Scarface goes on to say that he thinks its a conspiracy to make black people look stupid and brainwash a generation of hip hoppers with “this crud”. Scarface’s advice to upcoming artists is to uphold the integrity of the craft and not to let the executives dictate our culture. Scarface references how Chuck Berry and Robert Johnson helped found rock and roll and blues but how now both those genres are predominately white and have forgotten their black roots. He goes on to point out that its hard to name many all black rock bands making music today.

As the conversation topic changes, Facemob talks about recording and touring with Tupac who used to open for him. Scarface says Pac would have rode on a lot of people out now like Mitt Romney and that Pac was going to politicize his fan base before he was killed. Part 2 of this interview ends with Facemob sharing a story of the last time he spent time with Pac which was when they recorded the track Smile.

“I feel like we losing it,” Face says. “I feel like the people that are in control of what hip hop does is so f*cking white and so f*cking Jewish and so they don’t give a f*ck about what the culture and the craft really is about. Let me say this sh*t right because I want this to be as offensive as I can f*ckin’ make it for these old-a$$ punks that’s running these record labels that’s in the powerful positions to dictate what the black community hears and listens to. Hahaha, another clown, another wack rapper got dropped by a major company. After Rick “Officer Ricky” Ross being dropped by Reebok over rape lyrics, Lil Wayne has been dropped by Mountain Dew for his offensive lyrics about Emmett Till in the song “Karate Chop” by Future.

“Pop a lot of pain pills, ’bout to put rims on my skateboard wheels. Beat that p*ssy up like Emmett Till,” rapped in the song, which leaked onto the internet in February.

The Till family, angered by the lyrics and lack of an apology recently said they would go after his endorsement deal with the company and urged fans not to attend his upcoming tour.

Wayne wrote a letter apologizing soon after the family announced its intentions (which was obviously not written by him because he’s too dumb for that and it’s obvious that he didn’t mean it) but it was too late.

Airickca Gordon-Taylor – Executive Director, Mamie Till Mobley Memorial Foundation and Till Family Representative said the family did not view Wayne’s letter as a formal apology.

“While it’s commendable that he has vowed to respect the legacy of Emmett Till and his memory to ‘not use or reference Emmett Till or the Till family in his music,’ this statement falls short of an apology, as none is mentioned,” Gordon-Taylor told TMZ.

Emmett was 14-years old when he was brutally murdered and thrown in a river in Mississippi by two white men after whistling at one of their wives.

Roy Bryant and .J. W. Milam were both acquitted of his murder.

Mountain Dew’s parent company Pepsico issued a statement today stating that Wayne’s “offensive reference to a revered civil rights icon does not reflect the values of our brand.”

Another clown being dealt with, that’s good to see.

Papoose, who just released his debut album, The Nacirema Dream, opened up about how he got his start after sending in several demo tapes to DJ Kay Slay. The Alphabetical Slaughter rapper also talks about his passion for his craft and how a stint in jail increased his productivity.

From what I’ve heard, the legendary Wu-Tang Clan will perform at the Hot 97 Summer Jam XX. Not worth mentioning the other performing “artists” as most of them are some weak rappers and Pop singers.

Mobb Deep rapper and producer extraordinaire Havoc will be releasing his third solo album, 13, on May 7th. In addition to features by Royce Da 5’9, Twista, Styles P and Raekwon, Hav also got in the lab with Lloyd Banks for “Life We Chose.”

The duo sit down with Nature Sounds to talk about the record.

“You could put Banks on any record. He’ll kill anything,” Havoc said. “But that one in particular it just had like a real hard sound to it. I was like ‘yo, let me try to get the homie Banks on there.’ We both from Queens and all that. It was just one of those records.”

“The beat was crazy without question,” Banks added. “[Havoc's] beats get you in different modes, that’s when you can just go in and start writing immediately. It was reminiscent of so many different records that I’ve head. Sometimes it’s like that [but] you can’t put your finger on it. That’s what you get with Hav because he’s been recording for generations the same way I’ve been. I know all the way back from break beats to now with the new clubby sounding beats. But what we do the best is somewhere in between. And that’s what this sound is…straight gritty.”
