Missy Elliot is back on the music scene. She recently dropped two new singles featuring frequent collaborator Timbaland. While she was taking a break from music the singer/rapper got a serious health scare when she came down with Graves disease, an autoimmune disorder.

She talks with Sway in the Morning about that difficult battle.

I was scared,” she said. “Anybody that has Graves disease, you feel like you finna be outta here. And for me when you say you gotta take a radiation pill you think you really finna be outta here. You know, like what do I really have? And you gotta go through seeing my eyes change, and your hair fall out, your skin change. For me that was traumatic. I remember [being] in the studio with Monica doing ‘Everything to Me.’ And I couldn’t even write the words down because your nervous system breaks down. So you shake so bad. That was a difficult time.
