2012 will be the Year of the Dog. DMX is set to return to music with a new album, due this spring.
The Yonkers MC, born Earl Simmons, will release his seventh studio album Undisputed on March 27 and not on March 26 (as he said a few days ago) via United Music & Media Group. The first single, “Already,” will be officially released in the coming weeks, but we have it and you can check it out below, hard, raw Hip-Hop.
The highly anticipated new album sees DMX revisiting his gritty rap roots to bring his raw signature sound back to the forefront. Teaming up with the legendary Ruff Ryders, recognized for launching the careers of hip hop mainstays Eve and Jadakiss and joining forces with renowned producer Swizz Beatz, famous for producing hip hop’s finest including Jay Z, Busta Rhymes, T.I. and Cassidy, United Music & Media Group and DMX expect to see overwhelming success with “Redemption of the Beast”.
According to a press release, the album will feature appearances from Busta Rhymes, Tyrese, and Jennifer Hudson, with production from Swizz Beatz and Deezle.
“Expect the unexpected. Expect the new improved,” his Ruff Ryders affiliate Swizz previously said of the project, X’s first since 2006’s Year of the Dog… Again. “Expect Hip-Hop. Expect real music. Expect the Dog to be back.”
The embattled rapper was released from an Arizona prison in July after serving six months behind bars for a probation violation.
